APC S’South: We’re not convinced why Oyegun should be removed
Even as the plot to remove the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, is still being hatched, members of the South South Zonal caucus of the party have stated that they are yet to be convinced on why the party chairman should be removed.
Since the outcome of the conduct of the Ondo State APC governorship primaries that produce the governor-elect, Chief Rotimi Akeredolu, as its candidate, some party members have been calling for the removal of Oyegun, alleging that he indulged in undemocratic practices in the primaries.
One of such persons is the National Leader of APC and the former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Some others, who feel Oyegun should be removed also as APC National Chairman, are the Publicity Secretary of APC in Lagos State, Joe Igbokwe, the governorship aspirant of APC in Ondo State, Engr. Segun Abraham and the suspended Deputy National Publicity Secretary of APC, Comrade Timi Frank among others.
But the South South National Vice Chairman of APC, Prince Hilliard Eta, has stated that the zone was yet to be convinced on why the National Chairman should be removed.
Eta, who spoke on Monday, stated that those calling for Oyegun’s removal are self-centred
