APC Senator/Reps in northern Adamawa zone lose to PDP

Returning Officers of Adamawa northern senatorial district and Michika/Madagali House of Assembly have announced Mr Ishaku Elisha Cliff Abbo and Mr Zakariya Dauda Nyampa of Peoples Democracy Party (PDP) winners of Saturday’s elections respectively. Professor Ahmed Baba Ardo, the Returning Officer of Adamawa North senatorial district certified the results of the elections and declared Ishaku Elisha Abbo Cliff winner. He defeated his APC closest opponent with 79,337 votes. The incumbent Senator, Binta Masi Garba of the APC scored the closest votes with 16,219. Professor Daniel Gogula of Modibbo Adama University who was the Returning Officer of Michika/Madagali federal constituency declared Dauda the winner haven polled 40,332 votes to defeat his closest opponent, Hon Adamu Kamale of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Kamale who is the current lawmaker representing the area lost out to PDP. He scored 19,317 votes. Hon Nyampa described the victory as the “masses victory” that stood against all odd despite the power of incumbency of Kamale to make sure they elected him. While thanking the entire people of his constituency, he stressed that the victory is theirs and will make sure he represents them well.
