APC receives over 1500 PDP defectors in Oshodi

Some members of the opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 1 in Lagos State, have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defectors who were welcomed at the APC LGA meeting held at Methodist Pry School in Oshodi, by the Lawmaker representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Olusola Sokunle
and the APC LGA Chairman, Alhaji Olamide Kasali, were led by a PDP Chieftain, Hon. Fola Mosaku and 4 PDP councillorship candidates in the last local government election.
In his speech, the legislator representing the constituency, Hon Sokunle, said that APC is a party to belong where their political aspirations can be achieved, advising them to frequently attend political meetings in their wards.
Hon. Sokunle stated that the party is open to other PDP members who are still willing to join the APC.
He stated that the APC led government in Lagos State has performed beyond the expectations of Lagosians, saying that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has given Oshodi a facelift.
He eulogised Gov. Ambode and his team on the various developmental projects that have been executed in the state in the last two years.
“Let us thank Governor Ambode for giving Oshodi a facelift. More projects are still on the way,” said Hon. Sokunle
“The door is still open for other interested PDP members to join us,” said Hon. Sokunle
Also speaking, Alhaji Kasali, stated that APC would ensure all interests are protected, stressing further that the party would soon commence its membership registration in each ward.
Kasali advised all new and old members to go to their various wards for registration immediately it commences.
Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Hon. Fola Mosaku, said that they dumped the PDP for APC because of the performance of the legislator representing the Constituency in the House of Assembly.
Mosaku explained that they were also motivated by the performance of APC government in Lagos, stressing further that they would not make u-turn back to the PDP.
“I and four Councillorship Candidates in the last local government election are leading other members of PDP to APC today. We are joining APC permanently,” said Mosaku.
Names of the defecting councillorship candidates include, Olalere Abiola (Afariogun Ward), Yusuf Akinbiyi (Ewu Ward), Ayodeji Ogungbayibi (Mafoluku Ward).
Ayodeji Akinbiyi said that PDP is not functioning in Lagos anymore, saying that he was moved to join APC by the performance of Hon. Sokunle.
