Angst as lady takes over elder sister’s husband during ‘omugwo’

Social media was agog some days ago after a married woman named Mary Peter Obeten, cried out and revealed how her sister took over her home.
According to Obeten, her younger sister whose Facebook handle is Hannah Bab came to Lagos to help her to do postpartum care which is commonly known as “omugwo”. She boldly and successfully snatched her husband called Peter Obeten, a plumber who sent her out of their matrimonial home and is now cohabiting with his wife’s sister.
Saturday Times authoritatively gathered that Peter and Hannah chased Mary out of her home in the third week of September this year.
Mary, who has relocated to their village in Cross River, according to a woman from their community who confirmed the incident and pleaded anonymity, is depressed and has been uttering, “God will judge them.”
A peep into Mary’s Facebook account showed many comments she wrote convincing people that it was a true life story which happened to her.
On the other hand, Peter posted on his Facebook page celebrating his new found lover (his wife’s sister) that he was happy to replace his wife with her sister.
It is on this note that many people reacted to the ugly incident by consoling Mary.
One of her sympathizers wrote that Mary’s husband is a very wicked and useless man. “Same as your sister! Just be prayerful and I won’t advise you to leave your children to that prostitute you call a sister.”
Another person Tina Agbor wrote: “It’s like a Nigerian film. so you didn’t see any man apart from your own sister’s husband? God will judge you.”
“This is a barbaric act. So, what are you your parents reactions over this issues?” Njideka Austin asked.

John Usang said he has been seeing the post but ignored it because he thought the poster was just catching cruise.
“It’s not clear what she’s actually saying and reactions are really alarming.
“So, I suggest you (the poster) come up and make clear what you actually mean by this before the wrong notion will be held about your family and your matrimonial home. If you’re joking please make it clear.”
He warned: “As much as social media is helpful; it could be destructive if you’re not cautious about things you post here.”
