Anambra commissions 11 projects worth N10b

Anambra State government has commissioned 11 multi billion Naira  lofty projects built and donated to the people of Umuchukwu community, in Orumba South local government Area of the state.

The projects built by one of the industrious sons, Dr Godwin Maduka was aimed at promoting and developing the community.

The projects which cost over N 10 billion include a 17 floor and 40 flats building, Special Anti Robbery Squard Quarters, police officers’ Mess,Trinitas Hospital.

Others include ultra modern Gas Station, Civil Defence building, Court and Judges Quarters with ultra modern facilities, conference hall with lodges, International College of Immaculate Conception among others.

Speaking at the event, Community School Umuchukwu, Governor Willie Obiano said the gesture was in line with his dream and aspirations of “Aku luo uno” to attract tangible development in different communities in the state, so as to create more employment opportunities.

Governor Obiano commended his efforts and cooperation, saying the state government would always provide enabling environment for investors to partner with the State.

In his speech, the philanthropist and Managing Director Laz Vegas Pain Institute and Medical Center, Dr Godwin Maduka disclosed that he was motivated by the vision of the present administration which is geared towards attracting development home.

Dr Maduka revealed that only the court and judges’ quarters, with ultra modern facilities gulped N 3.1 billion, adding that he had donated over 15 houses to indigent people in the community and expressed readiness to do more.

Dr Maduka stated that Governor Obiano had transformed the state through his developmental strides and had provided enabling ground for business to strive as well as restoring security in the state.

He stressed his determination to partner with the State government to further project it to world map.

The President General of the Umuchukwu Community, Mr Okechukwu Nwele Said the determination of Dr Maduka to assist the Nigerian government and Anambra at large in developing the state was an indication that the society did not need crowd to bring changes that would affect the people’s life positively.

Mr Nwele stated that the event was culmination of the bold step to create an enabling environment to contain the magnitude of development envisaged in quick succession by the philanthropist.

He commended the partnership of security agencies including Nigeria Police and Civil Defence for their assistance
