AMAC VP urges Igbo in FCT to shun violence, division

Newly-elected Vice Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Lawrence Onuchukwu has called on all Igbo people in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to shun habits capable of bringing divisions in Nigeria and to adopt that that should protects its investments around the country.

Onuchukwu said this while in the company of the AMAC, Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido , to deliver his political campaign promises to the leadership of the Igbo communities for fulfilling their promises during the recently concluded AMAC election.

Onuchukwu, while paying homage to Eze Igbo 1 of FCT, Eze Ibe Nwosu, in Life Camp, Abuja, said: “I was amazed by the overwhelming support he got from generality of Igbos in Abuja during the 2016 Area Council elections.

“But, I’m pleading with my people that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is the party that has given us the platform to move the Ndigbo forward in AMAC and FCT in general.

“Therefore, it is the party that we must all support with all our strength and sense of humility, in order to succeed in the quest for a better capital Territory and nation for all.

While hinting on the one and invisible Nigeria, the Anambra-born business man said that the Igbos can still get their place in Nigeria which they crave but not with violence and agitation for cessation.

“Unity for me is very important among the Igbo nation. Because when you’re together as a people, you move mountain. That’s why I’m preaching oneness among my people and sincerity of purpose.”
