Abia ex-Dep Gov, Akomas, advocates single term of 5 yrs

For effective administration of the Nigeria and its various states, a single term of five years with continuity has been advocated.

A former Deputy Governor of Abia state and now a Board of Trustee, (BoT) member of All Progressive Alliance (APC), Comrade Chris Akomas expressed the concern yesterday while briefing newsmen in his Nenu Obingwa country home, stating that he is a strong proponent of one single term of five years for governors and presidents, “so that within 15 years, each part of the state or geo-political zone of the country must have produced a governor or president.

“When you know that it is one term, you will try to do something that will be remembered, and would not antagonize your brother from North, Central and South as they know that their turn is coming soon,” he said.
