S’ East Youth Economic Summit holds in Enugu

The maiden edition of South East Youth Economic Summit, SEYES, has been slated for October 2016.
The two-day economic summit which will take place at the Dome Hotel, Enugu, will hold from October 5 to culminate in October6, 2016. The summit will be organised by a non-governmental organisation, NGO, Diamond Youth Transformation Initiative of Nigeria, DYTI.
National President of DYTI, Uchechukwu Ekpere Paul, who addressed news men Thursday on the forthcoming Summit, said that the Summit afford the youth from the South East the opportunity to acquire industrial and managerial skills that would enable them to be self-reliant.
“The summit intends to showcase change and modernisation by bringing agriculture, ICY, Education and skills acquisition that will foster employment to our youth,” DYTI president said.
Uchechukwu who was accompanied by Media consultant, Chibuzo Ohiagu; South East Coordinator, Innocent Asonye; Uche Agu, Spiritual Director and Project Director, Jimmy Jebba, disclosed that the Summit will be sponsored by the former Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo.
According to him, about two thousand youth are expected to register for the zonal economic summit which will be organised in conjunction with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Enugu State, Kurios as well as Skills4africa.

Explaining the rational for organising the summit, Uchechukwu explained that the youth would be trained in different skills especially in agriculture so as to made them leaders that would transform the nation tomorrow.

According to him, the trainers are experts, captains of industry from Israel and Europe, pointing out that with skills acquired, South East could become what he called, ‘Japan of Africa.”

The president pointed out that the Israeli trainers would bring their technical know how and impact it to the youth for the needed economic transformation especially in this economic recession.
