LASPOTECH launches N5bn endowment funds

The Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH) is set to launch endowment funds of N5billion during the 24th convocation ceremonies slated for Thursday, April 7, 2016.
Addressing journalists at the Ikorodu campus of the institution Rector of the Polytechnic, Mr Samuel Oluyinka, disclosed this during the pre-convocation press conference adding that this year’s convocation is tagged “Poised for a Brighter Future”.
According to him, the ceremony will also witness conferment of Fellowship Award on the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi and Engnr Ademola Aladekomo, former Group Managing Dorector of Chams Plc.
He said the N5billion Endowment Funds is to facilitate the actualisation of the Polytechnic’s vision of excellence adding that the institution has attained an enviable ranking as one of the five topmost polytechnics in Nigeria.
“It is the desire of the Polytechnic to ensure that the institution becomes a renowned global tertiary institution. The funds to be raised will be committed to infrastructural development”, he said.
About 8,519 students will be graduating during the convocation while the convocation lecture is slated for Tuesday April 5, 2016 with the theme “Funding Challenge in Tertiary Institution: The Way Forward” to be delivered by Director General, The Electoral Institute (TEI) Abuja, Prof Abubakar Momoh.
