Youth Leader Dies In Election Violence In Obagie Nevbuosa

The general elections of May 15th 2015 in Obagie Nevbuosa community in Ikpoba Okha local government area of Edo State has reportedly claimed the life of one Osaze Idemudia, the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) youth leader in the community leaving many other supporters with injuries in a bloody violent clash between supporters of the APC and the PDP in the community.
The residents of the community have however called on INEC to disregard any results emanating from any of the polling units or wards in Obagie Nevbuosa community where cases of electoral violence was recorded adding that the integrity of such results can not stand anywhere in the world.
Confirmed report in the community had it that the violent clash between supporters of All Progressive Congress ( APC) led by the youth leader Monday Osunde vehemently resisted thugs led by the youth leader of PDP Osaze Idemudia in the community from snatching ballot-boxes.
The violence however escalated as the supporters of both parties engaged in a free for all using machetes to attack one another in the community, an undisclosed source revealed.
It was gathered that the APC youth leader and his supporters, who vowed to ensure that their votes must count in the elections, made frantic efforts to stop the PDP thugs and supporters from rigging elections through snatching ballot-boxes but to no avail.
The source further revealed that as efforts to stop the thugs from rigging the elections failed, some aggrieved youths engaged the PDP supporters in a fierce arguments which however degenerated into chaos.
The violence which however followed the disagreement between the supporters of both parties started when one of the PDP supporters who was dangerously armed with machete attempted to attack an APC supporter with machete but narrowly missed his target.

According to information gathered, as the violence degenerated further, the PDP leader was violently attacked by an unknown supporter with a dangerous weapon which instantly led to his death while others sustained injuries as the voting electorates all scampered for safety following the death of the youth leader.
Meanwhile, supporters of the PDP were said to have gone after the youth leader who immediately escaped as a crowd of angry mob reportedly burnt down the APC youth leader’s family house.
However, recent findings revealed that the APC youth leader following his escape from Obagie Nevbuosa community has refused to return to the community as his whereabouts however remain largely unknown to anyone in the community.
