Former Simba SC coach David Mwamwaja is dead
Former Simba SC coach David Mwamwaja has died at Muhimbili Hospital while undergoing treatment on Monday morning.
A family spokesman confirmed the death stating that Mwamwaja had been admitted at Muhimbili Hospital for treatment of an unspecified illness before he passed away.

The spokesman added that Mwamwaja’s remains will be transferred to Kyela, Mbeya for final rites and internment.
Mwamwaja also coached Bandari, AFC Tanzania Prisons and JKT Tanzania. In his playing days, he turned out for Arusha side Kurugenzu and later Meru Warriors.
He was appointed Simba SC coach in 1999 and tasked with rebuilding an ageing side that had been overshadowed by rivals Yanga in domestic competitions.
He recruited young players among them Athumani Machuppa, Mrisho Moshi, Prosper Omella, Wilfred Kidau, Henri Freeman, Thabit Mjengwa, Edward Kayoza among others. He also recruited acclaimed youth coach Ramadhani Aluko on the Simba technical bench.
However, Mwamwaja was sacked two years later together with his backroom staff hat included Aluko and Hassan Chabruma. He was succeeded by the late Burundian tactician Nzoyisaba Tauzany.
