Ondo Deputy Gov canvasses votes for Alasoadura’s re-election

Adewale Momoh, Akure

Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Agboola Ajayi has urged the people of the Ondo Central Senatorial District to vote for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Tayo Alasoadura who is re-contesting the district’s senatorial seat at the forthcoming polls. Ajayi who spoke on Tuesday during the official flag-off of the senator’s re-election bid at the Akure City Hall in Akure, the Ondo State capital, charged party members to commence door to door campaign for the re-election of Alasoadura, President Muhammadu Buhari and other candidates of the party. He noted that among those contesting the seat, Alasoadura remains the most credible, who, according to him, will use his re-election to attract more developmental projects to the central senatorial district. The Deputy Governor who lashed out at the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) central senatorial Candidate, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, said the former governor left behind liabilities rather than legacies. Ajayi said the Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, who is also committed to Alasoadura, had been clearing the mess left behind by Mimiko. “When we came on board, we met seven months unpaid salaries but I am happy to tell you that we have cleared six months. “Despite the paucity of fund, we have not relented in our efforts in transforming the state. We are currently dualising Oba Osupa Road. We are also dualising CBN Alagbaka Road. Work is ongoing at Gaga Road, SIB-Alagbaka, Ijoka to Idanre roads among others. “Not only in Akure that the Governor is working. Work is also ongoing in Owo, Ikare, Ese-Odo, Idanre, Ore and other councils.”
