Security kills 2 armed bandits in failed robbery attempt

Two armed robbers lost their lives and one with injuries were arrested early hours of Monday while trying to robbed a bus belonging to Cross Country line with registration number EPE 482 XT.

According to the driver of the bus, he was coming from Kaduna to Calabar, pointing out that at a bad point portion along the Enugu –PH express way, close to the Abia Tower of Peace, a Jeep came up behind him, while he was trying to give it chance to cross.

The jeep, with six occupants, suddenly stopped and the four doors opened simultaneously, while three heavily armed men alighted and two of them pointed a gun at him, while one opened the passenger side and entered into the bus.

The robbers, he said took control of the vehicle and made their way back towards the Mega Petrol Station, Nkwoegwu express highway.

Unknown to the three robbers, there was security personnel in the bus, who with light of speed, shot three of them, killing two, while one was arrested following a serious injury.

The three others in the jeep were said to have driven away.
