FRSC caution motorists against route violation

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Ogun State Command has reiterated it’s earlier warning to motorists, including convoy vehicles against route violation (driving against traffic).
The Sector Commander FRSC Ogun State Command Corps, Commander Clement Oladele, on Friday said the Corps has invoked the rule of ‘get your vehicle seized if caught driving against traffic ‘ as this violates the right to life on the highway, which is in line with the FRSC 2017 Ember Month theme of ‘Right to life on the highway, not negotiable. ‘
Accordingly the Corps has arrested some vehicles caught driving against traffic along the Sagamu- IJebu Ode Expressway and those vehicles would not be released till end of the festivities by end of January 2018.
In a similar vein some convoy vehicles that attempted to drive against traffic ended up crashing into each other. The vehicle’s involved are: Land Rover SUV MUS201DU; Toyota Hilux Van KTU638ER; Prado Landcruiser GGE941CP; Toyota Tacoma pick up GGE152DS and a Toyota Sienna LSR664EU.
The Sector Commander admonished passengers to caution their drivers to avoid dangerous driving or driving against traffic as some of the vehicles arrested complained that some of their passengers apparently in haste urged them to drive against traffic.
