IBB daughter’s wedding: 26 private jets, 4 police, Air Force aircraft land in Minna

.Jonathan, Saraki, Tinubu, others grace event

In what can be described as the celebration of class and the gathering of who is who in Nigeria, 26 private jets, four police and air force aircraft on Friday landed in Minna, the Niger State capital, for the wedding of former President Ibrahim Babangida’s daughter.

The aircraft had brought the various dignitaries who attended the historic wedding of Halima, last daughter of Babangida, who married a businessman, Auwal Abdullai, the Sarkin Sudan of Gombe.

Some of the important personalities at the event were former President Goodluck Jonathan, his wife; Namadi Sambo, former vice-president; Senate President Bukola Saraki; Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC); a business mogul and richest person in Africa, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, former Secretary of the Government of the Federation, Chief Anyim Pius Anyim and many state governors.

Others who graced the event were many former governors like Ahmed Makarfi (Kaduna), Attahiru Barfarawa (Sokoto), Shinkafi Mamuda (Zamfara), Isah Yuguda (Bauchi) and Sule Lamido (Jigawa). Ibrahim Shema (Katsina), Abubakar Dakingari (Kebbi), Aliyu Wammako (Sokoto) and Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano) were also there.

The former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Idris Kutigi, Ahmed Yayale, former head of service, Senator Ben Obi, Ibrahim Haruna, chairman, IBB Golf Club and Sani Zangon Daura were in attendance.

Also in attendance were former ministers, serving and former senators, and many others.

According to NAN, Abdullahi (the bridegroom) paid a bride price of N500,000 and 10 cows.

A former minister of information during the administration of former President Shehu Shagari, Garba Wushishi, handed over Halima to Abdullahi, while Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Dankwanbo, received the bride on behalf of the groom.
