Ancelotti: Muller still a key figure at Bayern

Carlo Ancelotti is adamant Thomas Muller remains a key figure at Bayern Munich and says the Germany international will get plenty of playing time in the months to come.

Muller has endured a difficult 2016-17 campaign, scoring just once in 13 Bundesliga appearances. The 27-year-old’s struggles prompted comments from former Bayern star Lother Matthaus that he might struggle to win over Ancelotti after the winter break as he does not fit the Italian’s style.

Nevertheless, Ancelotti has laughed off Matthaus’ remarks and has ensured Muller he still has a role to play at the Allianz Arena.
