Over 5,000 members dump PDP in Niger

Just one week after the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) had its local government congress nation-wide, more than 5,000 members have dumped the party owing to discrepancies in Chanchaga LGA.
Speaking on the level of favouritism and godfatherism experienced during the congress, the leader of the group, Dr. Jibrin Datti Balarabe said the process was manipulated by the party leadership to favour candidates of their choice and so the action.
Balarebe disclosed this on Monday during a press briefing in Minna that the recent development in the party particularly master-minded by the LGA out-gone Chairman, Shehu Aliyu Paiko, was capable of destroying the party both at local and state levels.
According to him, they started as a pressure group, “during the last congress of the PDP in Chanchaga LGA, the attitude of those in the helm of affairs shows that the party has not learnt from its previous mistakes, which led to the failure of the party to win the 2015 general elections.
