3rd annual Glo-sponsored Adetona lecture holds today

The third annual Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona professorial chair in governance lecture will hold today.

According to a statement released by fully integrated telecommunications solutions provider, Globacom, the sponsor of the lecture, the event will hold at 11 a.m. at Adeola Odutola Hall, Ijebu Ode, Ogun state.

The company said the topic of this year’s lecture is “Grassroots governance: The soft underbelly of Nigeria’s political architecture.” It will be delivered by the Professor Ayodele Olukotun, a renowned political scientist and media scholar.

It will also feature a panel of discussants that include, the presidential candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) at the last general election, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu and the only female presidential candidate in the 2015 election, Prof. Remi Sonaiya. They are expected to share their perspectives on the lecture topic.

The Oba Sikiru Adetona Professorial Chair on Good Governance was instituted at the Department of Political Science, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ijebu Ode, to promote the expansion of the frontiers of knowledge and generation of ideas for Nigeria’s development.

Globacom Chairman, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jr. last year donated N20 million in support of the objectives of the professorial chair.
