2019: Sanwo-Olu assures Lagosians of running ‘all inclusive’ government

The All Progressives Congress(APC) governorship candidate in the forthcoming 2019 general elections, in Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assured Lagosians of running an inclusive government whereby residents would be carried along in the policy implementation process.

Sanwo-Olu, who made the assurance during an official ‘Thank You’ visit to the APC Lagos East Senatorial District, held at the Multipurpose Hall of Centre for Management Development (CMD), Magodo, Lagos, explained that public policy is all about the well-being of the people, saying that his policies and programmes would be people-oriented.

The APC governorship candidate further added that “Despite my inability to reach out to you before the governorship primaries election, you believed in me and voted for me to be the governorship flag bearer of our great party APC in the 2019 general elections.”

Sanwo-Olu pointed out that there is need for all stakeholders and members of the party across the state to embrace themselves and work together as one united family despite the outcome of the primaries, stating further that the party in Lagos is known as a winning team and that such winning spirit should be reinforced in 2019.

He stated “We must work together as a team because APC in Lagos is known to be a winning team and we must ensure we bring back the team spirit in us. Let us work together as party men and women.

It is important to reach out to all aspirants who lost out in the primaries. We must beg all those that are aggrieved and make sure we all work together for success in 2019 general elections.”

Sanwo-Olu stressed, “Our government will be a participatory government. We will carry everyone along in the running of the government.

All views will be aggregated in our government. The people will take full ownership of the running of the government. We will run an open-door system”

He said “We will want you to continue to mobilise the electorate in all your environments. We need to reach out to them by engaging in house to house, door to door campaign. The people will be carried along in the implementation of our policies and programmes”

He, however, eulogised the leadership prowess of the National Leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, saying that he had built leaders across all sections of Lagos politics.

Speaking at the event, a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Sen. Anthony Adefuye urged the APC governorship candidate to compensate the Lagos East with the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) slot when elected, saying that it was the remaining tenure of the district he wants to complete.

He added that he should not sideline Epe in the running of his government, saying that the developmental projects in the town should be continued.

Earlier, the Director General of Babajide Sanwo-Olu Campaign Organisation(BOSCO), Mr Tayo Ayinde, thanked the party members for voting for his principal at the just concluded governorship primaries election, saying that it was an expression of loyalty to the party by the members.

Ayinde added “Mr Sanwo-Olu has come to do what is unusual in politics. He is here to thank you all for voting for him despite he was unable to reach out to you before the primaries.

We thank you for what you are still going to do for him in the forthcoming 2019 general elections.”
