2019: Human right lawyer tasks NASS on INEC budget

An Abuja based human right lawyer, Barrister Ugochukwu Osuagwu has urged the leadership of the National Assembly to urgently reconvene the National Assembly and consider the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) budget in the interest of the nation.

Barrister Osuagwu who regretted the controversy surrounding the reconvening of the National Assembly described the delay in the approval of INEC budget as unnecessary and uncalled for, adding that such unwarranted delay is capable of truncating the 2019 election.

President Muhammadu Buhari had last month written to the leadership of the National Assembly requesting for the approval of 242 billion budget for the Independent National Electoral Commission.
