In other to garner more support for her husband, Dr. Barr Jennifer N D N Atiku Abubakar Wednesday pleaded with Abia royal fathers and women to vote for her husband, Atiku Abubakar come 2019 presidential election.
Speaking in Umuahia when she met with the royal fathers, Mrs. Atiku told them that she was in the state to plead with them “to bring out our people that day to ensure PDP comes back to power” come 2019.
According to her, 40 years ago, the country had a vice president from the South East, noting “it is time we put our own there and in no distant time, the President will come to us”.
She added, “Come February 2019, vote Atiku to get Nigeria working again”.
Responding, the traditional rulers assured her that they would do the needful and prayed for her husband.
Represented by Eze Samuel Okorie, 2nd Deputy Chairman of Abia council of traditional rulers, the Enachioken iv of Abiriba, Eze Kalu Kalu Ogba, Eze Amara of Eziama Ntigha, Eze J N Nwabeke and Eze Dr. F N Ikpeazu of Obingwa condemned the plunging of the country into debt, incessant killings in the country and dragging the country 50 years backwards, assuring Atiku of their support.
Also speaking, the wife of Atiku’s running mate, Mrs. Peter Obi described Abia as well “Atikulated”, stating that the 2019 election calls for survival.
Earlier in her speech, the Abia First Lady, Nkechi Ikpeazu urged the royal fathers who came with their wives to assist Atiku who is their in-law.
Mrs. Atiku was also at the Abia International Conference Center where she held a townhall meeting with Abia women.
