We have increased students enrolment to boost education-NTI

The National Teachers Institute (NTI) Kebbi State has said that it has through its various programmes increased students enrolments geared towards achieving the education for all of the federal government. The State Coordinator, Malam Salmanu Nasir Maiwada stated that the programmes undertaken by the NTI include: NCE, B.ED, PGDE and NDE aimed at producing professional and qualitative teachers in the country. Maiwada added that for the in-service teachers, the body accommodates them through the pivotal training programme to extend its operations, however Salman said that eight new centres were added to the existing two in Kebbi state. In capacity building the institute organised several workshops on sustainable developments goals to boost the capacity of teachers in the state. He pointed out that for the body to succeed it needs determined hands to drive the chosen target of high level literacy for both teachers and students, therefore the institute maintains harmonious working relationship with stakeholders in the state education sector; they meet intermittently to discuss issues on education, its improvements and constraints, Maiwada said. He thanked Kebbi government for providing enabling environment for the institute.
