Woman delivered of a baby at Oshodi market

A 35 years old woman, Mr. Jumoke Oladapo, was on Wednesday evening, delivered of a baby girl in Oshodi Bolade, Oshodi Lagos state.
Mrs. Oladapo, who already had two children, was reported to have been having the pangs of labour while she was in a commercial bus, saying “I thought I could hold it till I get home. To God be the glory for thje safe delivery.” she said.
An elderly woman, Mrs. Moriamo Salami, who suprintended the delivery process, said “when I saw the pregnant woman moving towards my direction, feebly putting her hands on her waist.
I quickly grabbed her to assist and with my experience as a mother, I knew the baby was coming. Then, with the support of others, I took her to a corner for the delivery,”she explained.
A trader, Mrs. Rofiat Akinrimole, also provided a matronly help in the process.
According to her, “when Mama (Mrs. Salami) was coming with the pregnant woman, I quickly untied my wrapper for the coming baby, but miraculously, i found the baby on the floor before I even spread the wrapper.”
Another trader, Miss Gani Aminat, also shared her expericene saying “when the placenta was not forth coming, I was asked to fetch orogun (turning stick), bottle, oil and some other material, but before I could come back, the placenta was out.”
According to another witness, “the baby is a wonderful child as she was effortlessly given birth to in the market. Wonders shall never end in her life,” she remarked.
The new nursing mother was eventually showered with some amount of money to assist in transporting her and her baby home, in addition with gift items by the traders in the market, who became her instant care-givers. .
