Wike suspends 4 commissioners, HoS, SA

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has suspended four of his commissioners.

Also suspended were the State Head of Service, as well as the Governor’s Special Adviser of Lands.

The suspension of the officials was contained in a statement issued, on Wednesday, and signed by Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant to the Governor o‎n Electronic Media.

Though no reason was given for the suspension of the above listed top government functionaries, the statement said the suspension will last for three months.

The statement reads, “Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has approved the suspension of the following Commissioners for three months.‎ Honourable Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs

‎”Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism.”

“Honourable Commissioner for Finance.”

“Honourable Commissioner for Sports.”

“Also suspended for three months are the State Head of Service and the Special Adviser on Lands.”

It would be recalled that this is the second time the State Commissioner for Finance, Dr Fred Kpakol is being suspended.
