Why I joined APC at last minutes to election, by former PDP Presidential aspirant

Patrick Okohue

One of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirants, Mr Osifo Stanley has counseled Nigerians to avoid violence, as they come out en-masse to vote their choice in Saturday elections.\ Osifo made this call at a press conference in Lagos, when he officially declared his defection from the PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He claimed that his movement from the PDP to the APC besides being predicated on the fact that the APC led administration has done exceptionally well, in the delivery of the dividend of democracy to hapless Nigerian masses, that the fact that the leadership of his former party, the PDP refused to address some concerns about him and his supporters, also further fuelled his decision. Osifo said that he had to defect to APC having toed all paths of resolution in PDP and no respite in sight. “I am officially announcing my movement from PDP to APC, myself and my supporters are giving the incumbent President and other candidates of the party support to do more good works. “I am calling on everyone to look at what the government has done in the last three and a half years. “An holistic development in tackling insurgency, drastic reduction in corruption, visible development in power, agricult ure, increase in the GDP and many more.” Osifo however enjoined Nigerians to eschew violence as they go out to cast their votes on Saturday. “We want a peaceful election, not violence riddled elections, our people should come out and vote for the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari and all APC candidates, so that the good work can continue,” Osifo said.
