Unknown Gunmen Attack Community, Kill Local Residents, Burn Down Buildings, Farms.

No fewer than 25 persons have been reportedly murdered and property worth millions of destroyed as unknown gunmen stormed and attacked a community in a remote community in Mbaitoli Local Government, Imo State.
The recent assault was said to have,. taken place in the middle of the night when the unknown gunmen stormed the community on motorbikes shooting sporadically and setting buildings including farmlands on fire, it was confirmed.
The unknown gunmen in their numbers were reportedly said to have gone after the fleeing members of the community who immediately fled from their homes in the wake of the attack.
An eyewitness account said that the community had come under the invasion of unknown gunmen in recent months as the community had lost several of its local residents to bloody attacks by the unknown gunmen.
Apart from the high number of casualties recorded during the recent attacks, several buildings, businesses and farmlands were also razed down by the unknown gunmen.
Meanwhile, concerted efforts were made to profile and identify the numbers of persons still missing by community leaders as several persons were said to have been declared missing from the remote community .
Mr.Chima One, a businessman and leader in the community, who confirmed the attack, said that over 25 persons were murdered while several others are still missing till date.
According to him, many families lost their homes and loved ones in the recent attacks by the unknown gunmen who stormed the community in the middle of the night.
He however said that many people who include Mr. Ben Nnamdi , Sylvester Alloy, Bernard Okoro, George Okonkwo, Harry Okon, Kingsley Uchechi and Chukwudi Bartholomew were still missing.
