Ubani to hosts Ambode, launches NGO

A former chairman of Ikeja chapter of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Barrister Onyekachi Monday Ubani, is set to host Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State and other dignitaries as launches a charity foundation, “Onyekachi Ubani Foundation” (OUF). The event is scheduled to hold on Satuday, August 6.

In a release by Ubani, the passion for charity and the desire to help fellow humans and Nigerians are the motivations behind the setting up of the foundations.

The event is timed to coincide with his birth day celebration.

According to him, “The occasion is also to double as my birthday celebration, it is actually an appreciation of a privilege to serve humanity and save the souls of the poor and less privileged Nigerians who have been battered and broken by the harsh realities of life.

“There is a limit to what I can personally do to help many Nigerians because I have limited resources, but by mobilizing friends, individuals, institutions, both public and private, local and foreign, we can achieve a lot.”

He further said that, the foundation will run programmes in four different areas, which includes youth literacy Initiative geared towards ensuring that every youth can read, write and solve the most fundamental and basic life questions.

The youth creativity and media forum major goal is to raise a new generation of young people who can dare to dream and believe in the unseen possibilities that await them in life.

Other areas are men of standard, is a skills acquisition program targeted specifically at men who by reason of circumstance, have found themselves unable and ill equipped to provide for themselves and for their families because they lack particular skills in order to be gainfully employed or self- employed.

Women of substance is another area where women will be trained on courses aimed at equipping them with the skills that can earn them a living and put food on their respective tables.

The executive governor of Lagos state alongside other dignitaries are expected to grace the occasion.
