‘Trump should retract his statement on Buhari’

A Chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) from Kwara state, Mr Tayo Awodiji has carpeted the President of US, Donald Trump for allegedly referring to President Muhammadu Buhari as ‘lifeless’.

Trump had in Monday’s edition of Financial Times referred to his Nigerian counterpart as ‘lifeless’ shortly after a meeting between the two leaders on April 30th this year.

Buhari, the first sub-Saharan African President to meet Trump since he was sworn in January 2017 as the 45th American President was in the US for bilateral talk on Trump’s invitation.

The meeting ended with Trump saying he never wanted to meet someone as ‘lifeless’ as Buhari again according to the report of the Financial Times, citing three persons familiar with the matter.
