Threat To life: Job Seeker Told To Be initiated As criteria, Flees with Family

A job seeker in Benin City identified as Ekhaiguosa Eweka has reportedly fled with members of his immediate family over the incessant death threats and attempts on his life and family members by suspected cultists .

It will be recalled that Ekhaiguosa Eweka in his desperation in eking out a living by seeking for a job had earlier being introduced to a politician who owned companies.

Ekhaiguosa Eweka, it was said was however employed temporarily by the politician with a condition that he would be considered in few weeks on a permanent basis.

According to information made available, the politician who is a popular figure in the community was an influential cult member who recruited vulnerable unemployed youths into his company, many of whom were used as thugs in elections.

It was gathered that several weeks into his newly found job, Ekhaiguosa Eweka was told to be initiated into the extremely dangerous cult group as part of criteria to secure his job status on a permanent basis.

Trouble however started when he refused to be initiated as a cultist which led to him receiving death threats from the politician through his thugs who attacked his family house in October 1, 2023, destroying his property and unleashing violent terror on him and members of his family.

Confirmed report in the community however revealed that following the October attack on the family of Ekhaiguosa Eweka in Benin City, some faceless individuals were seen parading the community, an incident which in view of the worsening insecurity and several cult killings in the state further heightened fears among residents of the community.

It was said that the hoodlums again attacked by storming the family house of Ekhaiguosa Eweka in December 24, 2023 as he had already absconded and fled with members of his immediate family owing to the severe threats to his life.

Recent findings however revealed that the residence of Ekhaiguosa Eweka which bore every signs of desolation after the destruction by the thugs in early October that Ekhaiguosa Eweka fled from the community with his family as his whereabouts however remained unknown to anyone in the community.
