Taxi driver kills wife over 2 thousand naira feeding money

A 30-year-old taxi driver, Abdullahi Garba, from Ihima in Olehi local government area of Kogi state has been arrested by the police for alleged murder of his wife, Falilat Saka Garba
Garba, who was among the 13 suspects paraded by the Kogi state police command for various offences, told journalists that he was provoked by his wife when she slapped him for failing to give her N2,000,00 to buy food.
The suspect explained that he married his 29 year old wife 15 years ago and had one child, six years of age. He admitted to have used a kitchen knife to stab his wife during the brawl over the house keep money leading to her death.
Also paraded at the state police command were three armed robbery suspects with assorted weapons recovered from them.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration who represented the state Commissioner of Police, Wilson Inalegwu, based on intelligence report, operatives of the special anti robbery squad (DARS) arrested the suspects whose names were given as Ocheje Echeje, 25; Omaloko Attah, 27; and Emmanuel Musa Onalo.
The police also paraded a notorious armed robber and car snatcher alleged to be operating a syndicate terrorising Lagos and Kaduna states. The suspect, Isiah Ojode, was arrested at Olowa in Dekina local government area of Kogi state which led to the recovery of three stolen cars.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police four cattle rustlers who made away with 20 cows belonging to one Alhaji Yahaya Joji of lbademodu in Igala mela /Odolu LGA of Kogi state have been arrested with four of the cows and two of animals killed and efforts are being intensified toi recover the remaining ones.
A large quantity of substance suspected to be cannabis has been recovered from three suspects namely Lawal Ganiyu, Jibrin Idris and Enemi Salihu, all of who will be charged to court for prosecution as soon as the analysis of the substance is received from the forensic laboratory, the senior officer disclosed.
The senior police officer who noted with satisfaction the performances and gallantry of the men and women of the command, also commended the leadership of the Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris who gave special attention to the state.
