A provincial councillor in the province, Gulzar Sangarwal, put the casualties higher at four dead and 37 wounded.
He said many of the victims were school children. Provincial governor spokesman Asadullah Dawaltzai only confirmed two dead and 26 injured.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the bombing and claimed it left dozens of Afghan security forces dead and wounded.
The group has a significant presence in parts of the province and have often staged attacks on security forces.
