TAC calls for action to reduce unemployment through skills acquisition

TAC, As part efforts to reduce unemployment amongst youths in the country, a non governmental organisation has stressed the need for young Nigerians to have access to knowledge, skills and ability that will enable them to advocate for freedom, peace, sustainable development.

The Chairman of Taju Audu & Co, TAC Group Mr. Tajudeen Audu gave this advice during the unveiling of TAC House which houses a Training Institute Commissioned by the Nigerian Minister of Finance , Budget and Planning.

Audu who stressed the need to leverage on technology to bridge unemployment gap in Nigeria said, this can be achieved by building capacity in digital and entrepreneurs skills.

He said, the launch of TAC house was the beginning of a new era for youths in the country as the facilities will accord them the opportunity to acquire various skills that will help in bridging the unemployment gap.

Reeling out some of the opportunities available, he said; “For us in TAC group we do both academics and non academics.

So, and we are also given opportunity for people to get trained in some of these, then we complement them with the entrepreneurship skill to run a business. So that means apart from courses that we run in finance entrepreneurship management, communication skills, oil and gas accounting and so on.

We also are focusing on developing skills. The one we’re starting with now is for confectionaries. pastry, we have a fully equipped bakery here and we also produce all these you know confectionaries, DailyTimeNGR gathered.

“The Institution is creating a sustainable fintech hub which is focusing on tackling unemployment and reducing financial gaps through innovative solutions.

“we’re also encouraging people especially young people to go into fintech. There’s a lot of opportunities there. And we have a space designated to serve as an incubator hub for bringing out new ideas and developments in FinTech and it is financially friendly so that people can afford it”, he said.

Audu added that skill development is the way to go as the white collar jobs are no longer available. “I will encourage young people especially now when it is very difficult to get fully employed instead of looking for government jobs, they should to go the way of self development by acquiring a skills. I also encourage them to strive on integrity and competence instead of faking and wanting to get rich quick.This will enable a better society”.

On his part, the Executive Secretary,Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, NEITI, Orji Ogbonnaya stressed the need to promote local content development in all sectors of the economy.

He commended the Firm for its’ integrity and competence in auditing the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry.

According to him, this was the reason TAC Firm being an indigenous Firm was contracted for it competence in Financial services.

“Borne out of the need for stringent measures in carrying out the project so as to to ensure transparency and accountability explained the reason why TAC group qualified”, Ogbonnaya said.

He called on indigenous companies to take a lead from TAC Group to work with integrity and competence in delivering projects .

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Mohammed Musa Bello, who was represented by Lukman Dabari applauded the effort of the Firm in adding economic value to the nation’s capital.

He called on estates and business owners to install functional CCTV cameras and security facilities to curb insecurity in the country.

Also, the Minister of state of the FCT, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu said “the Training Institute will boost job creation , unlock the potentials, serve as an avenue to discover wealth in the financial sector and solution to complex challenges in the financial sector”
