Survivors of Rivers boat mishap float foundation

Survivors of the boat accident that claimed lives on the Bakana waterway in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers state are floating a Foundation with a view to reducing boat accidents on waterways across the country.

In a press briefing on Monday in Port Harcourt, capital of Rivers State, three survivors of the boat mishap two weeks ago, said their decision to float the NGO was borne out of their harrowing experiences during the accident which they attributed to over speeding and lack of safety awareness on the part of the boat drivers and operators.
