State of the nation: EDF inaugurates committee on security, economic summit
Soon, the people of Edo State will be presenting a position paper on the way forward on the present state of the country.

In line with this, the Edo Forum of Patriots (EFP), a socio-political group, inaugurated the Rear Admiral Stanley Ogoigbe (rtd)-led Central Planning Committee (CPC) for the Edo Security and Economic summit billed for November 2017.

At the inauguration, the committee was mandated by Justice Constance Momoh (OFR), chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the forum, to liaise with the state governor, Mr. Godwin Neghoghase Obaseki; His Royal Majesty, Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, business moguls of Edo extraction and all relevant public and private institutions for the successful hosting of the event.

Chairman of the forum, Aiyamenkhue Edokpolo, counseled Rear Admiral Ogoigbe to bear in mind that the summit must provide a fertile avenue for Edo people to appraise the plethora of secessionist threats posed by Biafra, RONDEL, Oduduwa and lately Midwest Movement on where Edo people should stand in the likelihood of a fragmented Nigeria.

In his response, Rear Admiral Ogoigbe assured members and trustees of the forum of a painstaking consultation and networking for a consensually hosted summit that will turn in workable and sustainable solutions to present and imagined dangers facing Edo people.
General Idada Ikponmwen acknowledged the military pedigree of Rear Admiral Ogoigbe, and assured of a successful committee work.
