Sen Jang has no key to Govt House – Gov Lalong

Kingsley Chukwuka, Jos

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state has said his predecessor and the Senator representing Plateau North at the National Assembly, Jonah Jang, does not have the key to the Government House, Jos. Lalong stated this while reacting to the earlier statement credited to Sen. Jang when he said he will chase Governor Lalong out of government house. Jang was quoted to have said during a rally organised by the PDP that he built the new government abode not for the APC and Lalong to occupy it but for his party to continue in government. Jang said he will work with his party’s guber flag bearer, Jeremiah Useni to unseat Lalong and send him out of government house. However, speaking on Tuesday at the Inauguration of the 2019 APC State Elections Campaign Council, Lalong said he took the keys of government house from Jang when he was still a governor in 2015 how much more now that the APC own it and has since change the keys. The Governor said he is confident that the APC will win the forthcoming elections at all levels, urging his teaming supporters not to give the main opposition a chance. “You will recall that since the APC took over the reins of power almost four years ago from the then ruling party, PDP, it has been victory galore for our dear party in virtually all the elections that have been conducted in the state to date. “This was clearly demonstrated, particularly during the House of Assembly bye-elections, as well as the recently conducted local government elections. “Our victories in these elections eloquently testify to the fact that our party is solidly on ground and that the electorate is solidly behind us. “As an incumbent government, which has recorded stunning electoral victories against the opposition, and has also achieved so much with so little resources within a record time of less than four years, we must, however, not rest on our oars and be complacent in the task ahead. “We must, therefore, do everything legitimately possible to ensure landslide victory, and not mere marginal victory, for our party in all the forthcoming elections”, Lalong said.
