See How Nigeria Plans To Boost Economy With Artificial Intelligence

Nigeria is looking to leverage artificial intelligence and other aspects of technology to impact businesses and boost its economy in coming years.
Artificial Intelligence is making waves globally and the Nigerian government is eyeing it and other emerging technologies to boost the nation’s economy.
Some of the technologies that the nation wants to domesticate, according to the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, are forensic auditing, artificial intelligence, robotics and data protection.
He believes these technologies would help the oil-rich nation strengthen its economy.
In a statement, the spokesman for the Ministry, Mr AbdulGaniyu Aminu, said Onu hinted of the plan at a meeting with members of the African Information and Communication Technology Alliance.

One way the ministry is looking to achieve the objective is by effectively deploying Information Communication Technology (ICT) to create a business environment that would enable enterprises to thrive.
The Minister further expressed optimism that domesticating forensic auditing, artificial intelligence, robotics and data protection would also help create the right environment for businesses to grow.
He asked the alliance to take advantage of the abundant resources available in the country to create billionaires and to make the nation proud.
According to him, no country in the world has ever attained greatness by depending on other countries for technology.
Earlier, the Chairman of the group, Dr. Jimson Olufuye, said the alliance was working to ensure that the business climate remained predictable so that investors would be confident of the sustainability of their investments.
Olufuye highlighted that the stability of internet services would give investors access to relevant information and also go a long way toward boosting enterprise in Africa and the world at large.
