The defection of Senator Andy Ubah from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) had necessitated the need for him to move over to the interior Committee since the Committee on Public Accounts is always reserved for the opposition.
Senator Sabo Muhammed is now to head the Committee on Trade and Investments, a position, hitherto held by Senator Raji Rasaki who now moves to Culture.
In the new arrangement, Senator Adeola Olamilekan, formerly the Vice Chairman Senate Committee on Communications is now to head the Committee on Local Content.
In the same vein, Senator Stella Oduah is now a substantive Chairman Committee on Cooperation and Integration, while Senator Bukar Mustapha now heads the Capital Market Committee.
