Sacked Akwa United players were bad influence on others

The Promise keepers have hinted that they are better without the services of some of their players who held them to ransom last season

Akwa United have disclosed that they dropped some players from the team  due to indiscipline and low productivity to ensure that the Promise Keepers.

According to team’s media officer Uwem Ekoh, the team could have done better last season if all the players shared same vision.

“We had issues with indiscipline among our players last season and it affected our season,” Ekoh told Goal.

“ We couldn’t defend the Federation Cup we won last year and we finished outside the top 10.

“We have started finding solution to our problems and the players we have released their names as being surplus to requirements are among measures taken to ensure that Akwa United remain on domestic scene next season.”

Akwa United ended their campaign 14th on the log with 47 points from 36 games.
