Président of United Labour Congress, Comrade Joe Ajaero urges Imo electo Jrate to reject oppressors.

Thé National Président of thé United Labour Congress( ULC) Comrade Joe Ajaero has read charged the Imo state government to clear the backlog of arrears of salary déductions of 30 percent from thé state civil servants and pensions owed to retired workers without further or to face the consequences.

Ajaero who issued the warning while briefing newsmen in Owerri at thé weekend on his much rumoured and undisclosed 2019 political ambition warned that unless at least 30 percent of the outstanding arrears of workers and pensioners in the state were settled, the embattled masses might be compelled to ground the state soonest.

He observed that sensitive institutions such as banks, filing stations and the EEDC would be forced to close down by the masses through mass mobilization in order to bring the government to its knees.

He therefore charged the electorate to see the forthcoming poll as a direct battle between them and their oppressors, between light and darkness and between liberty and servitude and a direct fight between oppressors and conservatism anchored on backward and trusted

“As the 2019 is fast approaching, they have all gathered to play our further emasculation, they have come together under different banners and guises but they have a common bond. They are our oppressors and are the people holding us down as a people and as a state. They are the same group looting our treasury, killing our people by stealing funds meant for our hospitals, by diverting funds that would have gone to build industries that would give jobs our people. They are the ones that have refused to allow the vision of our forefathers to see the light of the day”, he remarked.

The trade union activist widely believed to be angling for Okorocha’s job decried the mass demolition of markets, outright selling of industries, roads and sundry institutions in the state to individuals challenged the electorate to rise up against their oppressors in 2019 with their votes.

Ajaero who identified the oppressors as: Politicians and their lackeys, the “Militicians” and their puppets, the Money Bags stating that they are the elite in the various corridors of power and indeed those that benefit from their activities.

“They have a common purpose which is to corner our collective resources to themselves and share it amongst themselves. They may belong to different parties but they are all the same -looters and destroyers of our hopes and happiness, purveyors of hardship and impunity, insisting that we are different from them! 2019 is a battle between us and them between the people and the gang between light and darkness between truth and lies.”

He reminded the electorate that nobody could salvage the situation except them and that nobody could emancipate them except all of them.

“It is our civic responsibility to remove the present charade and gang-ups occupying Douglas House. We must remove the dancers of infamy besmirching the hallowed chambers of governance in Imo state. We have come to the conclusion that if we refuse to do something, we play into the hands of those who do not love our children and our future. All of our hands are needed to work out our salvation.

‘It is our collective refusal to act and to work together that has kept and sustained the enemies of the people in power and gave them the audacity to continue choosing for us one oppressor after another. One joker after another – all of them focused on exploiting and plundering our resources for the benefit of their class”.
