President Goodluck Jonathan Second Visit in Yola to Reconcile Ailing Members
President Goodluck Jonathan was in Yola for the second time to reconcile all ailing members of the ruling who might have felt cheated during the last primaries conducted in the state, he pleaded with all members of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, in the state to forget about the rancor that generated during the party primaries which brought about Mall Nuhu Ribadu and urged them to work hard for winning elections at all levels.
Jonathan made this plea while speaking during the PDP Town hall meeting that brought all aggrieved members and stake holders of the party in Adamawa state. Jonathan admitted with the level of injustice was done to many people but they should close their ranks and remain united for the good of all.
He reminded the PDP of its performance in 2011 in Adamawa state and urged them to beat the 2011 record despite the problems in the state branch of the party.
The state party Chairman,Chief Joel Hammanjoda Madaki had told the president that before the PDP gubernatorial primaries there were only two parties in Adamawa state PDP and All Progressive Congress APC but the party primaries created along battle crisis that resulted a mass exodus of PDP members to other parties which generated other strong political parties,Social Democratic Party ,SDP and the Peoples Democratic Movement, PDM are now other two strong opposition parties that our own members invented in the state.
Madaki maintained that the lack of reconciliation led the party to loosing many of its prominent members to other parties though the leader of the party and Governor of the state has been working asydiuosly to sustained the party in the state with the little resources the state received from federal allocation ,he also appreciates the Gubernatorial standard flag bearer in person of Nuhu Ribadu who is always working around cloak to see that peace and unity is brought back to the party as a result of him emerging the party’s candidate.
Joel added President Goodluck should do everything possible to reconcile the warring PDP members so that the party is not disgrace in the coming elections.
Some of the aggrieved party aspirants were allowed to poured out their grievances , Senator Grace Folashade Bent is one of the bruised aspirant who condemned the kangaroo primaries which produced many candidates under the platform of the party who cannot win any elections because of their lack of acceptability on ground in Adamawa state.
Sen Bent however appreciate president Jonathan for taking his time to make sure peace is restore back to the party and assured him of great victory in Adamawa state but it will be very difficult to deliver other PDP candidates in Adamawa state owing to their unpopularity among the electorates.
One of the aggrieved senatorial aspirants in Northern Senatorial District, Alh. Abubakar Kari Abdullahi said unless a genuine and lasting efforts are done to bring everyone on board the PDP may not perform the fit of parts elections because of the many injuries caused on the people during the primaries.
Governor Bala Nggilari had earlier thanked the president for coming to listen to the people of Adamawa state PDP promised that Mall Nuhu Ribadu and all other candidates will win the May 28 and April 11th elections.
Many aggrieved PDP members spoke out their minds during the meeting which was held at the Government House Lodge J.One.
