Police arrest 22 suspected Boko Haram insurgents, Chibok schoolgirls abductors

Operatives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Intelligence Response Team (IRT) have arrested 22 suspected members of the dreaded Boko Haram Terrorist responsible for the kidnapping of Chibok schoolgirls.
The suspects, who were paraded at the Borno State Police Command on Wednesday were said to have been responsible for over 50 suicide bombings within Maiduguri, Borno State and Adamawa State, Invasion of Bama and Gwoza.
Parading the suspects, CP Damian Chukwu said the arrest of the suspects was made on the directive of the IGP Ibrahim Idris who was concerned about the numerous attacks by the sect in the North-East.
According to Chukwu, ” Irked and worried by the persistent suicide bombings and killing of innocent citizens in the North East by the dreaded Boko Haram terrorist group, IGP Ibrahim Idris equipped and deployed the special operatives of IRT.
” They were equipped with enough credible, technical Intelligence to Maiduguri Borno State to trace and arrest all the terrorist responsible for the suicide bombings and other terrorist attacks in the North East after a lot of Planning and use of advance technology, between July 4 and July 9, 2018, IRT with support from SARS/CRACK team of Borno State Command Swung into action and eventually succeeded in arresting 22 confirmed Boko Haram Terrorists.
” The 22 suspects confessed to several suicide bomb explosions within Borno and Adamawa States, Kidnapping of the Chibok School Girls, Invasions Of Bama/Gwoza among many other crimes.
” Amongst them are the Commanders and Coordinators of Suicide Bombings in Borno State, Coordinator and members of the Chibok School Girls Kidnapping, Ambushes on Security agents, Logistics Suppliers and their receivers of gold, international currencies, cows etc.
” Also recovered in their possession were 11 AK-47 rifles and other weapons.”
The state police chief further stated that the suspects were arrested in different locations within Borno and Yobe States.
Some of the suspects were identified as: Mayinta Modu AKA Abor 23 years, Adam Mohammed 20 years, Jidda 21 years , Mamman Wardi 25 years , Alhaji Modu Jidda 29 years Ajiri Bulama Dungus 22 years, Mohammed Abba 20 years, Fannami Mustapha 22 years Adam Mustapha (AKA Ba’Adam) amongst others.
The suspects are said to be helping the operatives with useful informations to arrest the other fleeing members and commanders.
