Plateau House Member task Presidency on Peace Corps bill

A member representing Jos East, in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Joshua Madaki, has call on President Muhammad Buhari to speed up the signing into law the Peace Corps bill passed by the National Assembly in July 2017.

Madaki made the call yesterday in Jos, while acknowledging the effort of the Peace Corps in Plateau State, demonstrated in the area of road rehabilitation.

He said, “the Peace Corps has continue to demonstrate its strength in the area of selfless contribution in alleviating the sufferings of the masses and with this, President Buhari should stop wasting time in signing the bill into law, because it will help to engage the teaming youths into something more positive,” he said.

On his part, the Commandant Peace Corps Plateau State, Patriot Sunday Joseph, said the Corps effort on road rehabilitation is part of its corporate social responsibility and on the other hand, it helps to build the mental alertness of its members.

In a separate remark, the Management Committee Chairman, Jos East Local Government Council, Hon. Dauda Barde, who was represented by the Local Government Secretary, Hon. Nyam Ajiya express gratitude to the Peace Corps for coming to Jos East to carry out a road rehabilitation.

The LG boss call on government to end the suffering of his people by fixing the dilapidated road which has caused untold hardship even to farmers as they find it difficult to transport their crops to the city.

Our correspondent reports that, this is the third time the Peace Corps in Plateau, is embarking on a voluntary road rehabilitation exercise within the State.
