Philanthropist donates, energize 200KVA transformer to community

A philanthropist, Dr. Olisaemeka Ugwuneze, at the weekend donated and energized a 200KVA transformer to Umuogboagu in Igboeze-eze North Local Government of Enugu state.

Daily Times gathered that the gesture by Ugwuneze ends the three years of perpetual darkness suffered by the community owing to the collapse of its transformer.
The representative of the community, Engr. Kingsley Idoko said, “The former transformer which broke down three years ago could not be repaired after several efforts by the community.

But after we approached Dr. Ugwuneze for help, he quickly accepted to refurbish the transformer as well as provide a new 200KVA transformer for the community use.

That promise which has been fulfilled is what we are celebrating here today. Chief Ugwneze has installed two out of the three transformers that service the entire Umuagboagu community.

We the villagers expressed our total gratitude to this philanthropist who is also our illustrious son for relieving us from years of darkness”, he said.

Ugwuneze, who is the Director General of Gburugburu Solidarity Movement (GGSM) appealed to members of the community to secure the transformers. Our correspondent also gathered that the road leading to the community is constantly been maintained by Ugwuneze.
