PDP will only accept result that reflects wish of Nigerians, says Fani-Kayode

The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation, yesterday claimed that its presidential candidate, Dr Goodluck Jonathan is already leading other candidates with a marging of between two and three million votes.
The Director of Media and Publicity of the PDPPCO, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode stated this at a press conference in Abuja.
The Director based his claim on the reports filed in by the PDP agents in voting centres across the country.
Fani-Kayode however protested what he called deliberate attempt to falsify the results of the presidential election, threatening that his party would lawfully resist any such.
His words, “according to the figures made available to us, we are ahead in the presidential elections by at least two to three million votes.
“We have our own Situation Room and we have collated all our figures from the various polling booths, wards, local government areas and states in the Federation”, he said.
The Director accused the rival All Progressives Congress (APC) of colluding with some electoral officers to announce unofficial results.
Fani-Kayode nonetheless declared, “despite the propaganda of the opposition, we are confident of victory”.
He however threatened that “we will accept nothing less than the announcement of an election result that is truthful and that reflects the true will of the Nigerian people”.
Continuing, he said, “any attempt to manipulate figures or to rig us out from any quarter will be firmly resisted”.
When asked to justify his claim that PDP is leading by between 2 to 3 millions, Fani-Kayode stated: “We have agents at all polling units in every ward and by law, they know how to collate and transmit results. I expected the INEC chairman to know this and also to know that none will get up, from here and announce absurd results.
“We are very sensitive that at some point, some people were trying to hijack the results.
“From day one, we decided that we will collate the figures from all polling stations and we will dutifully continue to do that. And we want to warn that an attempt to announce any result that is not correct, that is manipulated will be firmly rejected and resisted simply because some people want to win by propaganda and deceit.
“We are confident that there are forces that are hell-bent to ensure that false figures are announced and foisted on the people. Any such false will be resisted by us, by our supporters and all men of good will all over the country”, he said.
