PDP national chairmanship aspirants in crucial meeting with Makarfi

Ahead of its December 9 elective national convention , eight out of the aspirants for the National Chairmanship of the Peoples Democratic Party , PDP, today held a closed door meeting with the Chairman, National Caretaker Committee, NCC of the party, Senator Ahmed Makarfi in Abuja.
In attendance at the meeting were Chief Bode George, Prof Tunde Adeniran, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, Prof Taoheed Adedoja ,Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Chief Uche Secondus, Chief Rasheed Ladoja and Mr Jimi Agbaje.
The NCC Chairman, Senator Makarfi, in his opening remarks before the meeting went into closed door session, assured that the party will be free and fair to all concerned.
Makarfi explained that the NCC of the PDP is just there to carry out the directive of the NEC and national convention and as such people should not ascribe to it the power it does not have.
When the meeting ended Chief George who spoke for other aspirants said that they have resolved to generally support whoever emerges as National Chairman at the end of the day.
