Pastor arrested for sexually assaulting businesswoman

A Lagos based pastor, David Daniel has been arrested and charged to court for the indecent assault of a businesswoman identified as Joy Muriyaro.

The woman, whose shop is located at No. 2 Ailegun Riad, Ejigbo, said the pastor had approached her on September 17, claiming to have been sent by God to her.

Muriyaro revealed that the pastor told her he had seen a vision of vision having fibroid, and other spiritual problems.

She noted that Daniel had collected the sum of N3,050 from her, and a perfume with N1,000, all of which he said were to be used for spiritual cleansing.

It was in the process of the spiritual cleansing that Daniel had assaulted the vivtim.

The Lagos Police Spokesperson gave details in the arrest of the suspe, saying, “ Josaiduriyaro, of No 31 Olarenwaju Street Ejigbo, Lagos, reported at Ejigbo Police Station, that David Daniel, aged 41, came to her shop at No 2 Ailegun Road, Ejigbo, under the guise of being a prophet sent to her by God.

“ The said prophet claimed that he saw in a vision that she is having a spiritual problems and has foreseen her having fibroid growth in her womb in the future.

He collected N3,050 cash from her and a bottle of perfume worth N1000 for spiritual cleansing. She stated further that the suspect followed her to her house and ordered her to remove her clothes for him to rob anointing oil on her buttocks.

“ She became apprehensive when she noticed that the suspect was masturbating when robbing the anointing oil on her buttocks.

The Suspect was arrested and charged to Court for Indecent Assault and remanded in Kirikiri Prison.”
