Okowa’s choice as govs forum chairman good for S/South – Delta PDP
Delta state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has hailed the emergence of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as the chairman, South-South Governors Forum, describing it as an appropriate political decision that is good for the region.
PDP Publicity Secretary in Delta state, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, in a statement, noted that the unanimous selection of the governor to handle this major regional responsibility, will not only give the south-south the desired quality leadership required to stabilize the zone, but will also define a clear political direction for the district going forward.

“We received the news of the emergence of our leader, Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state,# as the new chairman of the South-South Governors Forum with great excitement and a huge sense of satisfaction.
“This uplifting news of the elevation of our governor did not come to us as a surprise, given the outstanding administrative track record and the admirable political savvy of a man whose stature and pedigree has grown in leaps and bounds over the years, as the epitome of excellence, transparency and integrity in the political space.
“Gov. Okowa is the doyen of gentleman politics in Nigeria. A politician gifted with an astute strategic articulation, an admirable strength of character, post-modern analytics of the vicissitudes and complexities of contemporary political cleavages.
“He is the complete symbol of a new generation politician aptly suited for the times and seasons of this existential epoch,” Osuoza stated.
The statement explained that the decision to saddle Gov. Okowa with the quite challenging responsibility of piloting the affairs of the South-South Governors Forum, is instructive and a definitive statement of the dynamic new direction the region desires to embrace and pursue as the political climate transforms.
