OJokoro LCDA chairmanship aspirant bags award

Barely a month to the All Progressive Congress (APC), local government primary in Lagos State, a frontline politician and chairmanship aspirant in Ojokoro Local Council development Area, Hon (Dr) Babatunde Oladipo Okeyomi , has bagged an award as the Best Political Grassroot Mobilizer of the year from Nigeria NewsDirect.
The award, according to the organisers, was bestowed on Okeyomi in recognition of his immeasurable contributions, especially his philanthropic activities as a selling point to lift up the party.
According to a statement issued by his Media Aide, Mr Sunday Rotilefon and made available to journalists, the chairmanship aspirant assured that the award will propel him to do more for the party and his local government, saying that programme to extend his charity is under way.
“I’m well qualified for the award due to my contributions to the party. The award is to further promote grassroots politics and I can assure you that I will do more for my people.
“I have received many National and International awards but this is unique because it is in recognition of my contributions to my immediate society and politics.”
Reacting to the primary guidelines released by the party for the forthcoming local government election, he commended the leadership of APC for allowing open playing participation which has laid to rest rumours that there is an anointed candidate by one of the party leaders.
Okeyomi assured his supporters that he fears no foe as he is grounded enough to triumph at the primary, adding that the party leaders know the aspirants and we want the best among them to be the chairman of the LCDA.
“The party said they want a candidate who can sell APC; it means that they are looking for a man with unquestionable character, charismatic, and selfless service candidate, I know that the leadership of APC will decide who will represent their interest and who ever emerge at the primary shall be supported by all party members,” he said.
