Obasanjo Presidential Library, a monument for world-class researches – Rodipe
The Chairman of Bisrod Furniture Nigeria Limited and the Evergreen Tree Planter, Giwa Bisi Rodipe, has described the recently commissioned Olusegun Obasanjo Library as a world-class research centre for Nigerians and the International community.
Giwa Rodipe, who stated this recently in Abeokuta, Ogun state after going round the library project, noted that with the facilities available in the library, anybody desirous of a perfect research work on any global issue now had the Obasanjo Presidential Library to provide him or her the much needed information.
The Bisrod Furniture boss noted that the library project would not only serve as a tourist centre, but also as a leadership training centre for people in positions of authority from the Local Government Chairmen, House of Assembly members, members of the National Assembly, ministers, governors to the president of a country.
He admonished former President Olusegun Obasanjo for the library project, stressing that Nigerians would forever remain grateful to him for creating such institution for leadership training, more so that the major problem with African leaders today was lack of leadership training centres with adequate facilities.
Giwa Rodipe noted that Chief Obasanjo should be commended for making available the library for public use, adding that such a historic, recreational and academic centre would, no doubt, adequately serve as a National archive for the preservation of vital documents and other historic items.
“Former President Obasanjo is not only a successful farmer and a leading Environmentalist for his activities in forestation, but a colossus in every ramification because whatever he lays his hands on becomes instant success and l am optimistic that the Obasanjo Presidential Library is another milestone,” he stressed.
Giwa Rodipe appealed to both the Federal and State Governments to see the Obasanjo Presidential Library as a centre established to meet the rapidly increasing quest for researches in governance, leadership, financial management, administration and global politics by paying greater attention to the available opportunities in the library.
He, however, pointed out that with Chief Obasanjo’s sound character and high integrity, he had no fears in the ability of former president to do everything possible in making sure the Library lived up to its expectation as a centre to preserve the past, capture the present and inspire the future of Nigeria and Africa at large.
