NPFL: Balogun relishes draw at Lobi

Ikorodu United forward, Kabiru Balogun is in cloud nine after his vital goal secured a point for the side at Lobi Stars.
The Oga Boys held the Pride of Benue to 1-1 draw in rescheduled Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 23 clash on Thursday at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi.
The hosts scored the match opener through their talisman, Tony Okpotu while petite goal king, Balogun even scored for his side in the 61st minute to help claim four points off Lobi Stars in the on-going top-flight.
Balogun said he is quite excited to have provided both goals in Lagos and Makurdi that unsettled the Makurdi-based side.
“Of course, everybody is in a celebration and happy mood over the vital point we claimed at the expense of Lobi Stars.
“I’m particularly excited to have provided the goal that earned us the point in Makurdi as well as the goal that gave us the whole three points in Lagos.
“The away draw against a traditional side like Lobi Stars is an omen that a little further push we can overcome the relegation threat starring us in the face at the moment.
“We are greatly strengthened to come back home to challenge FC IfeanyiUbah for the three points in matchday 26 clash on Sunday.
“I can tell you that only an outright victory will be acceptable to us against visiting FC IfeanyiUbah on our ground in Lagos,” said the Ikorodu United marksman.
The crucial point at Lobi Stars takes Ikorodu United total earnings to 16 points with a game to spare against the Nigerian champions, Enyimba.
